The dedication for the Rotary Musical Instrument Playground at Regatta Park will be on Saturday, August 24th at 12:30pm at Regatta Park. It will be part of the Oregon Children’s Music Festival (OCMF), which is an all-day event at Regatta Park. The OCMF is kicking off the event by introducing their program “Piano Push Play” which is a project that temporarily installs grand pianos in 5 of our public spaces: Regatta Park, 51st Street/Taft, Nelscott Deck, Community Center and the Public Plaza by Bob’s Books. The Rotary Club of Lincoln City, Lincoln City Parks and Recreation Board, Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce and Lincoln City City Council members will be attending the dedication for the new musical instruments. This family friendly event is open to all. Join us in celebrating the dedication and the love of music and children.
Mayor Dick Anderson handed out checks totaling $50,000 to local nonprofit agencies on Wednesday, August 14 in the Council Chambers. Lincoln City recognizes the essential role of nonprofits in our community and thanks them for all they do.
Following on the heels of last year’s brand new Lincoln City logo, Driftwood Public Library has unveiled a new, playful logo that hearkens to the City’s famous orange octopus, effectively communicating that the library, while a City department, very much has a life of its own.
DPL has never had a logo as such, and the library staff are excited about the possibilities the new branding offers. “We’re very happy that the logo captures the cheeriness and playfulness of the library, while also keeping books and learning front and center,” says library director Kirsten Brodbeck-Kenney.
Look for the logo’s appearance on the library website, posters, and even the library van in the near future!
